LMCD Board Approves Save the Lake Funding Proposals

In October of 2014, the LMCD announced the availability of Save the Lake Funds for 2015.  Save the Lake is a non-profit fund that invests in programs that benefit the public safety, environmental, and recreational needs of Lake Minnetonka.  Grant applications were solicited through December 5th.  At their Wednesday, January 28, 2015 meeting, the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District Board of Directors approved the following two proposals:

  • Hennepin County Environmental Services ($12,300): Partial funding of electronic, changeable message sign for the Spring Park public access; and
  • Mound Fire Department ($4,650): For the purchase of public safety equipment.

The Fall/Winter 2014 Save the Lake Solicitation Drive kicked off in December (see letter within).  You can learn more about the LMCD’s Save the Lake Fund at www.lmcd.org, under “Save the Lake” or by contacting LMCD Executive Director Greg Nybeck at gnybeck@lmcd.org or 952-745-0789.
