Well, you did it again and kudos to you! Your Save the Lake contributions were once again put to work funding valuable environmental, public safety, and educational projects that are not covered within the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District’s (LMCD) budget.
Chair Baasen is pleased to announce the continued funding of the LMCD’s Boater Safety Education and Solar Light Programs, as well as for important public safety equipment. Two newly funded projects this year also included: 1) partial funding of an electronic changeable message sign that will provide timely and highly visual information to the public (planned within Hennepin County’s redesign of the Spring Park Bay access) and 2) an additional Hennepin County Sheriff Water Patrol Deputy (licensed peace officer) assigned specifically to Lake Minnetonka Thursday through Sunday (including holidays) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. This additional position is offered to stabilize watercraft coverage during peak usage times. Public safety continues to be a priority of Save the Lake.
Your support to the Save the Lake Program is vital in continuing to carry out its mission to “..invest in the environmental quality and recreational enjoyment of Lake Minnetonka.” Please take a moment to: 1) review the recent Save the Lake solicitation letter (within) that provides pictures and details of the funded projects and 2) send a contribution to LMCD Save the Lake Fund at 5341 Maywood Road, Suite 200, Mound, MN 55364 or on line at www.lmcd.org, under “Save the Lake.”Posted on: July 10th, 2015
