The Narrows Bridge has been reopened to vehicle traffic. However, some construction crews will continue working at the site through the end of September.
Starting Monday morning, September 21, crews are expected to close the Narrows Channel. Closing the channel to boat traffic will allow crews to safely construct a working platform and paint the beams underneath the bridge. Weather permitting, the channel is expected to close on these days next week and the following week:
Signage will be provided at the channel to inform people of the upcoming closures. These are the last channel closures scheduled for the project. Further, temporary vertical clearance restrictions can be expected Friday September 25 thru 27 at a height of 14 feet through the Narrows Channel. This will allow crews to continue work underneath the bridge over the weekend. During the channel closures, boaters will need to use alternate channels or other means to get around.
