The Lake Minnetonka Conservation District is looking to hire an Intern for the Summer of 2024!
The Lake Minnetonka Conservation District (LMCD) brings together fourteen different cities, two counties, and many state and local agencies to protect, preserve and enhance Lake Minnetonka’s environment, economy, and vitality. We are a uniform, coordinating body that cares for and regulates one of Minnesota’s most important resources. Lake Minnetonka is a unique asset requiring unique governance. This position will perform a variety of administrative, technical, and clerical tasks that support the Manager of Code Enforcement and Executive Assistant in their day-to-day responsibilities. Duties of the position include:
- Assist with code enforcement and environmental services,
- Perform fieldwork, collect data, take measurements, and record findings.
- Draft reports for board consideration after review by the Manager;
- Assist with special projects;
- Manage new/renewal of licenses;
- Respond to complaints and inquires;
- Assist with phone coverage, as needed.
Minimum Requirements include: having an interest in public administration, environmental policy, ecology, environmental conservation, or city/government/agency work; and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, water resource science, or business administration.
This is a paid hourly position. Rate is $15 – $20 per hour on a 20-hour work week schedule.
