Lake Minnetonka Conservation District

LMCD Board

The LMCD Board typically meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the Wayzata City Hall, 600 Rice Street. The Work Session starts at 6:00 p.m. and the Formal meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

The purpose of the Work Session is to allow staff to seek input from the Board and for the Board to discuss matters in greater detail than generally available at the Formal Board Session. The Board may give staff direction or express a preference, but does not formally vote on matters during Work Sessions. While all meetings of the Board are open to the public, Work Session discussions are generally limited to the Board, staff, and designated representatives. Work Sessions are not videotaped. The purpose of the Formal Session is to allow the Board to conduct public hearings and to consider and take formal action on matters coming before the LMCD.

The Board may also hold other special meetings from time to time. The meeting packets, or any respective cancellation notices, are posted on the front page of this website the Friday prior to each scheduled meeting.

To conduct business, the Board must have a quorum (typically eight of the fourteen Board members).   A majority vote of the Board in attendance is needed to approve most motions and resolutions. Ordinance amendments typically require eight affirmative votes.
