Thanks again volunteers for protecting our lakes and rivers! Statewide results for Starry Trek 2022 are released and here are the final numbers:
- 233 volunteers participated across Minnesota
- 289 public water accesses were searched on 248 water bodies in the state
- There were no new populations of starry stonewort found during the event. Hooray!
- Yet there were 13 previously unrecorded populations of invasive mystery snails.
Though no new populations of starry stonewort were found in Lake Minnetonka this year, it is always a good reminder to contact the LMCD right away if you notice or identity any suspicious vegetation or species when out on the lake.
