Mound, Minn. – The Lake Minnetonka Conservation District (LMCD) has named David Krueger as its new Executive Director. Krueger joins the LMCD with extensive experience in economic and business development, finance, and public administration, most recently serving as a senior funding and government affairs manager for an engineering firm. As Executive Director, Krueger serves as the executive and operating officer of the LMCD. Reporting to the Board of Directors, he is responsible for implementing the organization’s strategic plan, overseeing daily operations and management, and advancing the LMCD’s mission to preserve and enhance the Lake Minnetonka experience.
“Lake Minnetonka is a Minnesota staple and a place so many people call home. I’m honored to take on the responsibility of ensuring its preservation and enhancing the experience for all who live, work, and play here,” said Krueger. “I look forward to working with our board to help lead the LMCD and shape the future of Lake Minnetonka.”
LMCD Board Chair Ann Hoelscher added, “David’s diverse background and wealth of experience make him exceptionally well-suited to lead the LMCD, and we are excited to welcome him to this crucial role.”
Krueger was unanimously selected following a rigorous hiring process. The LMCD Board of Directors formally approved his hiring at its July 9 meeting. He succeeds Jim Brimeyer, who served as Interim Executive Director since 2023.
