The Lake Minnetonka Boater Safety Education Program is a great way to learn how to safely operate a boat and obtain a Minnesota DNR Watercraft Operator’s Permit. Classes are for youth 12 years and older, and adults. Firsthand demonstrations will be given to provide practical boating skills. Course presenters work with participants and share unique boating experiences and key on-board safety practices. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend for a rewarding experience.
The course will take place on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm at the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol Building (4141 Shoreline Drive, Spring Park, MN 55384). Same-day registration begins at 7:45 am. Cost to attend the class is free, however to access the online boater education course and obtain a Watercraft Operator’s Permit, each participant must register and pay the exam fee of $29.95 prior to the class. Upon request and receipt of payment, the LMCD will provide reimbursements to youth participants. The course will also include a complimentary lunch and snacks for participants.

Registrations forms are due by 5:00pm on Friday, June 7th, 2024.
